Our First Ride October 24th 2009.

On this wonderful fall day when the air was crisp and the leaves falling we are going to take a ride on our newly delivered bikes.

We choose the bike trail at Lake Needwood Park that connects with Rockcreek Park and ultimately ends in the Georgetown neighborhood in Washington D.C.

After a short getting acquainted to our bikes we headed out on the trail. After a very few minutes on the trail and barley a mile down the road I got a flat rear tire. Without thoughts that this might happen I did not have any repair parts or tools with me. I had to push the bike back to our car and return home. Although disappointed with our day, Jenny had a wonderful time riding her new toy and felt very comfortable. We decided to conquer Lake Needwood at a later date and time.

The begining of our new hobby.

After extensive researh on the purchase of a folding bike for myself and for Jenny we choose the Dahon Speed P8. On 10/17/2009 I ordered two 2008 model P8's from Safetycycle.com for a price of $480.95 each. I also ordered a front and rear fender's for both bicycle at a cost of $35.00 each and two Dahon El Bolso carry bags for $70.00 each.

I ordered directly from Dahon two Arclite Aluminum rear luggage racks at a cost of $48.00 each.
